Kanzashi flowers are made using a Japanese technique of folding fabric, akin to origami. Each petal is crafted from a circle or square, then sewn to one another to build the completed piece. I use vintage kimono silk in my hair accessories for an extra level of luxury.

The fabrics used in this flower are an orange sashiko pattern and a pink shibori finished with a single gold bead. It is firmly fastened to a metal alligator clip that is great for all types of hair. This accessory can also clip onto to a purse strap, hat brim, dog collar, lapel, or any other place that could use gussying up with a pretty blossom.
