Kanzashi flowers are made using a Japanese technique of folding fabric, akin to origami. Each petal is crafted from a circle or square, then sewn to one another to build the completed piece. I use vintage kimono silk in my hair accessories for an extra level of luxury.

The fabric used in this flower is navy with white dots surrounding an ivory center and light blue Swarovski crystal beads. It is firmly fastened to a metal alligator clip that is great for all types of hair. It can also attach to a purse strap, hair brim, dog collar, lapel, or any other place that could use gussying up with a pretty blossom.
