Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon where music appears as colors and textures, which has always seemed incredibly cool to me. When I look at this piece, I feel like I get a little taste of that. I can almost hear those colors sing!

I am having the best time creating flowers, and this is one of my favorites. I used four different colors of Dupioni silk in addition to that glorious plaid. This knockout of a rose is mounted on a padded blue velvet headband that compliment it beautifully, and there is a small spray of blue pleated crinoline to add a flair of visual interest to the back.
